Heat guard Josh Richardson bracing to miss next 6-8 weeks

Josh Richardson is bracing to be sidelined for the next six to eight weeks, a timetable that virtually ensures he will miss the entirety of Miami Heat training camp and calls into question his availability to start the season. Richardson suffered the injury during workout on Friday and his return will depend on his rehab process.

Richardson posted a 0.7 nERD, which ranked 73rd, in 52 games last season as a rookie.

Basically in terms of knee injuries it's the best thing that could have happened to Richardson because his ligament is only partially torn.

Nissan recalls 120K vehicles; fluid leaks can cause fires
Ford is adding about 1.5 million cars, SUVs and vans to a recall for doors that can pop open while the vehicles are moving. If this occurs, owners should not drive the vehicle, but park it outdoors away from other vehicles or structures.

With the question of Chris Bosh's health still very much up in the air, having Richardson as an unknown as well will not help any in Miami.

Luckily for the Heat and second-year sensation, it really wasn't the worst. Hopefully the youngster won't miss any regular-season games, but if he does the Heat have the newly re-signed Tyler Johnson and free-agent pickups Dion Waiters and Wayne Ellington in place at shooting guard.

Richardson was supposed to be a starter on the team next season or at least to play a big role off the bench. But if Richardson is not ready to start the regular season against the Magic on October 26, it will be up to Ellington, Johnson and Waiters to fill in for Wade at shooting guard. But Richardson will likely miss at least part of Heat training camp, which begins on September 27. He also let them know that he's plans to be back as soon as possible.
