Putin says Russia didn't hack US Democratic Party

Russian President Vladimir Putin denied this week that Russia had sponsored the hackers who stole emails and documents from the computers of the Democratic National Committee and other US political institutions, adding that the American public should focus on the content of the leaks rather than searching for who did it. Still, Putin asked if it matters "who hacked this data", and argued that "the important thing is the content that was given to the public".

"I don't think they are setting the best example", he . This week, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said that voter-registration databases in IL and Arizona were breached by hackers with ties to the Russian state, adding to its earlier suggestion that Russia was behind the DNC hacks.

The FBI has released 58 pages of documents from its recently closed investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server, including a summary of agents' interviews. The emails showed that top officials mocked Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during the primary. Then-chair of the DNC Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned following the release.

Bloomberg also spoke with a "cybersecurity expert" at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington who said that Russia's "track record" doesn't lend much credibility to Putin's denial.

"You know how many hackers there are today?" It's an extremely hard thing to check, if it's even possible to check.

Putin says Russia didn't hack US Democratic Party

Democrats have led a push to uncover whether there have been additional Russian cyberattacks, convinced that Putin's government hopes to tilt the elections toward Republican nominee Donald Trump, who for several years has expressed admiration for the Russian president.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the euro area could someday shrink in size if its stronger members sought to close ranks.

He said that even if Russian Federation wanted to influence the USA election, Moscow's experts aren't knowledgable enough to do so. "To do that you need to have a finger on the pulse and get the specifics of the domestic political life of the USA", he said.

The same group is thought to be responsible for hacks of the Clinton campaign and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
