Third-party candidates Jill Stein, Gary Johnson didn't make first presidential debate

Given the unique nature of the 2016 presidential campaign, that alone should earn Johnson a seat alongside Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton when the first debate convenes September 26 at Hofstra University in NY. Mike Pence of IN and Democratic Sen. "Gary Johnson is a major party candidate, on every American's ballot, and he needs access to the same information as his challengers so the American people can hear his take on a level playing field", Libertarian National Committee Chair Nicholas Sarwark said.

Third-party candidates have faced long odds in US presidential elections ever since the Democratic and Republican parties took command in the late 1800s.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein was also excluded. With a new round of national polls showing Hillary Clinton's lead over Donald Trump seemingly evaporating overnight, Libertarian Gary Johnson has suddenly turned into an attractive alternative for some voters. Johnson secured just 0.8 percent of the vote in Iowa and Stein just 0.2 percent.

To qualify for the debates, each candidate has to be polling at 15 percent across five major polls.

Less than two months from Election Day, the annual onslaught of surveys providing daily updates about the state of the race has arrived, and the third-party challengers are shown to be pulling significant support from the widely unpopular Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Ezekiel Elliott won't be charged for domestic violence
Prosecutors released a bunch of photos showing bruises on the woman, which she claimed Elliott inflicted. Samuel noted Thompson later deleted the Instagram posts and switched her account from public to private.

Johnson must hit at least 15 percent in public polling to qualify for the upcoming presidential debates. Clinton and Trump have both previously confirmed that they will participate in the first debate, set to take place September 26 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

"Yet, the Republicans and Democrats are choosing to silence the candidate preferred by those millions of Americans".

Johnson has said it will be "" for his campaign if he does not make the presidential debates, two more of which follow the opener at Hofstra.

Voter apathy and anger are so high, many have said they will not vote for either Clinton or Trump.

Johnson, a former governor of New Mexico, has said that participation in the presidential debates was crucial to his candidacy. Those five polls will continue to track support in advance of the second and third presidential debates.
