After surgical strike, India can economically stifle Pakistan

Following the announcement by Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, the home minister lauded the army in a series of tweets, which said: "Congratulations to the Indian Army on successful counter terrorism operations against terror groups and their launching pads".

India, which claims to be the largest democracy in the world, has reportedly forced local media not to broadcast any news item about the army before an approval is given by the defence ministry.

They went up to three kilometres deep in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir after trekking for almost 10 hours and the strikes they launched were simultaneous.

In retaliatory firing, Pakistan claimed to have killed 8 Indian soldiers and captured one Indian soldier.

The commandos who went across the Line of Control for surgical strikes, fanned across 250 km of mountainous and forested territory to target seven terrorist "launch pads" or staging areas.

The raids were a direct response to an attack earlier this month on an army base in Kashmir that India blamed on Pakistan-based militants.

Dissenting the India's attacks, Pakistan begins to narrate a few cooked up stories and puts up fake shows; and it has a long history of telling lies.

Islamabad wants peace in the region but "we will not allow anyone to cast an evil eye on Pakistan", Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Friday.

Pakistan, Beijing's all-weather ally, has denied that Indian troops had carried out "surgical strikes" across the Line of Control, saying it had responded to "cross-border fire" from the Indian side that killed two soldiers and injured nine more.

According to an official source here, these were routine meetings but were significant in the wake of the army's surgical strikes across the LoC.

He said the United Nations calls on the governments of India and Pakistan to "exercise restraint and encourages them to continue their effort to resolve their differences peacefully and through dialogue".

"The atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian forces can not suppress the freedom struggle of the people of Kashmir", he said.

"If casualties had happened, we would readily say so", he said.
