UEFA Champions League 2016/17: Arsenal 6-0 Ludogorets - 5 talking points

Mesut Ozil has bagged a second-half hat-trick as Arsenal turned on the style to thrash Ludogorets 6-0 in the Champions League and move to the verge of the knockout rounds.

Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring early on at the Emirates with a tremendous chip for his second goal of the competition, while Theo Walcott continued his fine scoring form to give the Gunners a commanding 2-0 lead at half time.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he did not contemplate selling England forward Theo Walcott in the summer.

Stoyanov responded by getting down to repel Oxlade-Chamberlain's volley, but he was helpless as Ozil added his second and Arsenal's fifth.

As performances go, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's first-half showing was awful. The whole team is flying with confidence at the moment'. Maybe we make more of our chances because the final ball is better.

Ozil found Oxlade-Chamberlain with a good ball over the top, and the former Southampton man nearly scored a beauty, firing a first-time volley that gave Stoyanov a lot of trouble.

Trump's 2005 comments disgust women, but change few opinions
The poll surveyed 500 likely voters in North Carolina between October 10 and 12 with a 4.4 percentage point margin of error. Donald Trump's blunder is the most visual, as he called the election day November 28 in a rally in Florida .

"It looks like Ozil has the taste to score goals", said Wenger. We have a risky game so it is important we take our chances. I always wanted to keep him.

What troubled Wenger the most last season was Arsenal's lack of efficiency in front of goal.

The third goal effectively broke Ludogorets' spirits, and powered by an excellent Coquelin, Arsenal's midfield took over. "You want him to be a provider and a scorer and it looks like he's slowly moving towards that better balance".

"We were fast and unsafe", added Wenger, whose team is second behind Manchester City in the Premier League standings.

"This season there is really no excuse to overburden his players, with Arsenal boasting their strongest squad in the Wenger era". Ludogorets meanwhile had Cafu by name, but not by nature as the Brazilian missed two chances to get the Bulgarians on level terms. Hailing from the Bulgarian city of Razgrad whose population is just 32,500, the five-time domestic champions had never won a Champions League away match despite running Liverpool close on their only other trip to English shores two years ago.

Walcott is keen for the Gunners to top Group A but knows they face some tricky games.
