The Utah Utes host the Washington Huskies in Week 9 of the college football schedule on Saturday, kick off time at 3:30 PM ET, at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

SALT LAKE CITY - This game will get buried in the history of No. 4 Washington's already special season.

The Huskies and Utes played a remarkably even game on offense, with the Pac-12 North leaders securing a slight edge in total yardage (385-376) thanks to 186 passing yards and two touchdowns from quarterback Jake Browning.

"I think their record proves out", Petersen said.

West Virginia's Skyler Howard passed for 212 yards, but he threw two interceptions and lost a fumble for the Mountaineers (6-1, 3-1). There appeared to be some missed blocks in the back during the decisive return, but regardless, Utah could not get the job done. "That guy is good". They have one of the better secondaries in the country and the offense features weapons all over the field. "The ball would just hang in the air forever and it was hard to judge where the ball was really going, but his leg paid off for us in the end". In yet another well-rounded effort in a back-and-forth game, No. 4 Washington beat No. 17 Utah 31-24 on the road, improving to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the Pac-12 to maintain its status as a playoff frontrunner. Two possessions after its first scoring drive, Victor would give Utah its second touchdown of the day on another personal foul, this time with a face mask penalty. He finished 12-for-20 and threw one interception.

Hill outpitches Arrieta; Dodgers beat Cubs 6-0 for NLCS lead
The Cubs were just as worse after a 8-4 victory in game 1 on Saturday , which included a Grand-slam in the 8th inning. The top of Joe Maddon 's order went 0-for-11 against Kershaw and Kenley Jansen .

"It was awesome for Dante to get that return at the end because that's a heck of a punter", Petersen said. "We could get nothing". It was one of those frustrating games where everything went in Utah's favor except the final score.

After a field goal made it a 7-point Washington lead, Williams hooked up with tight end Evan Moeai from 24 yards out to tie the game at 24.

But the shocking upset over Ohio State, which looked like a national title contender up until that point, vaults the Nittany Lions to second place in the Big Ten East and No. 24 in the AP Poll, their first time breaking into the Top-25 since 2011. His skill set was on display as he closed the third quarter with four straight carries for 52 yards, helping to set Washington up for a 41-yard field goal that gave the Huskies a 24-17 advantage early in the fourth quarter.

"That's a good football team we played today", Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said. That's right, the Huskies' Hesiman-candidate quarterback pinned the Utes as deep as possible in their own territory with a punt in the fourth quarter.

"That punt wasn't bad". Coming into a hostile environment needing a win for their College Football Playoff Chances, the Washington Huskies were able to come away with a huge win late.

With the statement triumph in tow, Washington will now watch Tuesday's CFP rankings reveal with great anticipation as the committee mulls where the Huskies rank among the nation's premier teams. He also had 22 in two seasons at Utah and 17 in his two years at Bowling Green to start his head coaching career. Jake Browning completed 14-for-28 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns. Troy Williams' final pass fell incomplete, sealing the pivotal road win for the Huskies. That has helped them jump out to a 7-0 start and the Huskies will look to once again have a strong showing here, they've won those games by an average margin of nearly 38 points per game.
