President Trump defends Muslim ban, pledges more immigration actions

The most reassuring thing is that Americans are standing up in DC and across the nation, protesting and offering their services.

And Trump is vulnerable, not only because he is an envied outsider who seized the highest prize politics has on offer, but because his agenda would cancel out that of the elites.

This past August in Rio de Janiero, Yusra Mardini and Rami Anis of Syria, as well as James Chiengjeik and Yiech Biel of South Sudan, among others, proudly represented the aptly named and first ever Refugee Olympic Team at the summer Olympic games.

The second myth is that Trump's order is unprecedented, or even illegal. The present ban, coming as it does in the wake of Western military interventions in Muslim counties that have claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and rendered millions homeless, will only exacerbate tensions and provide a propaganda boost to religious extremists on the other side. The U.S. president signed an executive order to temporarily ban the immigration of refugees. Furthermore, as reported by law enforcement, no one from the banned countries has been involved in the terrorist tragedies committed on US soil.

The ban on immigrants from the seven countries makes for dramatic television, because the people it has harmed are able to talk to the media about it.

Defending his recent executive order on immigration, President Donald Trump on Thursday said that "there are people who seek to enter the country for the objective of spreading violence" or "oppressing other people based upon their faith". Checks and balances. Well, Donald Trump might have been invented as an exercise in didactic fiction to test the theory. But conservative analysts suggest that America's vetting of refugees -already considered the most stringent process of its kind in the world - can be tightened further.

Protests against US President Donald Trump are sweeping the world.

The poll of 1,018 adults was conducted January 30-31 and had a margin of error of 4 percentage points. During the same period, a Huffington Post/YouGov poll was conducted. Forty-one percent disapproved. It took George W. Bush five years for his approval rating to drop below 45 percent.

Now, in February 2016, when countries like Libya, Somalia and Yemen were included in the list, President Trump included those seven countries in the executive order.

Understanding the situation of each one of these countries is important to learn why people from these countries are justified in fleeing wars and becoming refugees. Battered by a loss of jobs and growing insecurity, Americans elected Trump to break America's dysfunctional political duopoly.

UC has many worldwide students taking part in student organizations and other areas that help the school thrive. Offline polls have found Trump's approval ratings lower. The establishment views it, probably correctly, as the first move toward a new immigration policy, built on pre-1965 foundations, and rooted in a preference for Western-Christian immigrants first. But, some polls like the CBS News Poll reveals Trump has hit a record low in terms of approval ratings. This poll is diametrically opposite to the other online polls. For Trump, and many of his supporters, the ban is justified as a way to "protect the American people from foreign terrorists", for many others worldwide, it is seen as a risky and offensive restriction imposed on the most vulnerable segment of human society, and a direct assault on one of the world's largest religions.

Trump's approval rating is 40 percent, CBS News Poll reveals. Sean Spicer, who is the White House Press Secretary, stated that the travel ban was based off on the Obama administration's actions.
