Recapping The Bachelor, Episode 8: Hometown Heroes

Nick Viall is down to his final four in season 21 of The Bachelor, but it's tough to get too excited considering the end result is so obvious.

Nick's most successful hometown date is with Raven's family in Hoxie, Arkansas.

On this week's episode of the bachelor, Nick gave four hometown roses out to Raven, Rachel, Corinne and Vanessa. Her mom tells Raven to put her heart out there, but when Raven dances around telling Nick she loves him, she backs away, like a true Southern lady.

For his third hometown, Nick met Corinne at an exclusive shopping mall in Miami, where she attempted to fulfill all of Nick's Pretty Woman fantasies. Catholic Nick looked like a Franciscan at a Mardi Gras parade, but seemed to pass the test. During his private chat with Raven's father, Nick ended up getting his blessing to propose to his daughter.

However, Rachel assures him that colour would not be an issue. Inevitably, Nick left The Bachelorette heartbroken.... until he returned to Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of the show, that is. Nick assured Rachel, "I'm not colorblind".

Establishing shot of a French stop sign - we are in Montreal for Vanessa's hometown date.

Who do you think should be eliminated on The Bachelor?

Harvard Study on ACA Repeal Reveals Impact on Kentucky Addicts, Mentally Ill
At Friday's roundtable, Cicilline said Republicans have been dragging their feet to repeal and replace Obamacare for years. The proposal also says insurance companies can demand consumers pay off any missed premiums before they get a new policy.

Fortunately, they nail that down before meeting her family members, who are also all black-except for Rachel's sister's brother, who identifies himself as "a white". Let's just say that a day in the life of Corinne is not ordinary. Later, her stone-faced dad doesn't help matters by temporarily refusing to give his blessing before divulging to Vanessa that Nick also asked permission from the other three families.

Things got complicated as Nick traveled to Montreal to meet Vanessa's family. Raven could barely speak through her emotions, and frankly neither could we. Various aunts and siblings are shocked to learn that the couple hasn't discussed post-show logistics (i.e. where they'd live if they got engaged). And while the entire Olympios family welcomes him to the dinner table, Corinne's father, Jim, wants to know his post-"Bachelor" game plan.

They are on some sort of adventure that results in the cops coming.

After pointing out to her viewers that Lindsay will be the franchise's first-ever black Bachelorette, Ripa agreed with Harrison that she's lovely and "sparkles" on TV. Church is a huge part of her life. Then Corinne's dad tells Nick that Corinne has agreed to be the breadwinner if this whole being The Bachelor thing doesn't work out financially. But with the stakes being so high, Nick will go on an emotionally charged trek to the four home towns.

The amount of restraint in Corinne's Dad to not burst out laughing at this is Oscar-worthy. Nick is interrogated as to his future plans, where he and Vanessa would move, and what he really likes about her. Subsequently, Andi and Josh called off their engagement, and she wrote a tell-all book about her time on The Bachelor titled It's Not Ok, which catapulted her to best-selling author status.

"Everyone in my family is so relaxed", Corinne shares. Vanessa's students approved of Nick, which was the first checkmark he needed during this hometown.

In other words, the earlier ABC reveals the next Bachelorette, the more time they have to cast the right men - a solid group of suitors who are truly invested in finding love, particularly with Lindsay this season.
