Here are major changes in President Trump's temporary travel ban for a number of majority-Muslim nations to overcome legal challenges that led federal judges to block the original January 27 order. According to a fact sheet obtained by the Associated Press, this new version places a 90-day ban on people from Sudan, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen.
Iraq's exclusion from the new order, DHS said, was the result of the Iraqi government's agreement to "increase cooperation" with American authorities to further vet travelers seeking a visa to enter the U.S.
The order, which takes effect March 16, does not restrict legal permanent residents, or green card holders, from re-entering the USA, the DHS said. Iraq, which had been included in the original travel ban, was removed from the list.
The new order is meant to address "many of the court's concerns", according to an administration official. But in a major defeat, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled February 9 that Trump's initial travel ban would remain suspended.

Homeland Security Secretary John F Kelly Kelly said the executive order signed today will make America safer, and address long-overdue concerns about the security of our immigration system.
One senior Department of Justice official said Monday that while they were anticipating challenges, they still believe the original decisions against the ban to be "misguided". Whether the new order fares better will be the next question for the courts.
"We worry that this is going to be much of the same".
The new order doesn't ban citizens of Iraq, one of many changes made to an original order in hopes of putting the measures on stronger legal and political footing. But it is not literally a "Muslim ban", since it allows the vast majority of the world's Muslims to continue visiting the United States.
