Russian markets fall after United States strike against Syria

Haley's remarks come just a day after she warned that the United States was prepared to take further actions in Syria during a special session at the UN following a U.S. military strike against a Syrian air base.

Haley delivered a sharp rebuke to Russia for its support to Syria, saying President Bashar al Assad regime was "playing Russians for fools. telling them that there were no chemical weapons".

In an interview airing Sunday on "Meet the Press", Haley said the administration would hold Russia accountable for Syrian government attacks against civilians, citing her confrontation with her Russian counterpart at Friday's U.N. Security Council meeting about the new USA airstrikes against Syria on Thursday.

A divided UN Security Council met on Friday in emergency session to debate the USA cruise missile attack on an airfield in Syria where Washington asserted aircraft were launched to drop chemical weapons on civilians Idlib Province earlier in the week, killing more than 70 people.

The U.S. rationale that it had to respond to a Syrian chemical weapons attack on civilians was only a pretext for a long-planned missile strike, the Kremlin said.

The US military said it was still reviewing the evidence.

Within hours, Russian Federation suspended a deal with the United States to prevent mid-air collisions over Syria.

Haley went silent. Van Susteren paused, and then said, "Moving on".

Russia said it expected the UN Security Council to condemn the United States strikes, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

The expectation of a winning team is now there. "Give him a lot of credit, he had really good stuff from the very beginning". Louis opened the scoring in its half of the third with a run built on the speed it didn't display much of previous year .

"They just make things up", she said. The Kremlin warned it would hamper Washington's ties with Russian Federation.

"If Russia wants to be absolved of responsibility for future attacks, [President] Vladimir Putin needs to enforce commitments, dismantle Assad's chemical weapons arsenal for good and get fully engaged" with the United Nations peace process on Syria. Van Susteren asked Haley why the world has not heard much from Trump about Russian Federation, a question that drew a thunderous applause from the audience.

Mr Tillerson echoed the comments, telling Face The Nation on CBS, the Russians "have played now for some time the role of providing cover for Bashar Assad's behaviour". Though there are already stringent requirements for refugees to enter the U.S., Trump repeatedly said during the presidential campaign that he considered Syrian refugees a terrorist threat.

I have been following reports of the air strikes against the Shayrat Airbase in Syria conducted by the United States. The hotline's primary intent is to ensure Russian planes conducting combat missions in Syria's skies don't stumble into an accident or confrontation with aircraft flown by the USA -led coalition fighting an Islamic State insurgency in the north of the country.

Haley also addressed reports that there were mixed diplomatic signals sent about the USA position toward Assad's role in Syria.

Western leaders backed the United States action, saying Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had brought it on himself.

SAFRONKOV: (Through interpreter) We must recall when you take your own path that this leads to awful tragedies for countries in the region and the people living there.

"We're going to call you out for the fact that you're covering up".

The US said it notified both Russian Federation and Turkey before the missile strike.
