A group representing more than 130 British imam or mosque leaders said they will not perform Muslim funeral rites for the three men behind the deadly London Bridge attack on Saturday.
The other two attackers were named Monday as Khuram Shazad Butt and Rachid Redouane.
All three men were shot dead by police within eight minutes of receiving a 999 call.
But as a former interior minister, May's record on security is also under scrutiny - police numbers were reduced every year under her watch and as Home Secretary she oversaw the domestic intelligence agency, MI5.
However reports say that one of the attackers was already known to the authorities for disseminating extreme views in his East London neighbourhood and that the man had appeared in a Channel 4 documentary about Britain's "jihadists".
Redouane, 30, claimed to be Moroccan and Libyan.
Reports say Ignacio Echeverría came upon the scene at London Bridge while cycling back from a park with two friends, with whom he had been skateboarding. Investigators searched two homes Monday and detained "a number" of people in the investigation into a van and knife attack in the heart of London that left seven people dead.
British police are stretched by the number of people they believe could potentially commit an act of terrorism. Authorities have said the London attack was apparently unconnected to the Manchester bombing.
Butt had appeared in a documentary called "The Jihadis Next Door", broadcast a year ago by Britain's Channel 4, as part of a group of men who unfurled an Islamic State flag in a park.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Canada would stand with the U.K.in the fight against terrorism.
On Sunday Prime Minister Theresa May visited some of the 48 people taken to hospitals across the capital after the attack. Barking resident Erica Gasperri said she had reported Butt to police after she saw him teaching local children about Islam and showing them how to pray.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick told the BBC that police seized a "huge amount" of forensic material and evidence from the van and in the raids.
Christine Archibald from Castlegar, British Columbia, has been named by her family as the first victim of the attack.
Seven women and five men were arrested following the attack, while a 55-year-old man and 53-year-old woman arrested at the same address in Barking have been released.

The nearby London Bridge station was operational though one of the exits that leads to the cordoned off area on Borough High Street remained closed. But while the people of England seem to be united in the wake of the attack, politicians across the world did not put up such a unified front.
Online, Londoners used Facebook's Safety Check feature to offer victims food, shelter, clothing and even blood donations in the hours after the attack.
