Doubts over Theresa May's grip on power as DUP deal talks continue

UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has denied plotting to topple Prime Minister Theresa May, who has been weakened by the Conservative Party's disastrous election result.

The fallout from Thursday's snap general election, which left her Conservative Party bereft of their majority, also prompted her to seek out a relatively tiny ally that could have vast sway over what happens next in the United Kingdom.

"But what I'm doing now is actually getting on with the immediate job". And I think that's what's important, I think that's what the public would expect.

And it appears the Labour party is in no rush to reshuffle the pack, with sources suggesting they want keep pressure on the Mrs May - whose leadership has come in to question. But Britain's Saturday newspapers agreed she is just clinging on. The Conservatives will be unable to pass controversial legislation without the DUP, the only minor party willing to countenance backing May. It was a bid to shore up her majority in Parliament.

A party spokesman confirmed the resignation of Hill, a combative character who one former colleague said had helped create a "toxic" atmosphere at the heart of the government. Negotiations on the terms of the exit have yet to begin, and a huge amount of work has to be accomplished in a short time by British negotiators and Parliament to meet that deadline without damaging the British economy. The DUP had campaigned for Brexit in the June 2016 referendum but are considered against a so-called "hard Brexit", which would see Britain leave the European Union (EU) single market and customs union.

She said: "Our two parties have enjoyed a strong relationship over many years".

Ironically, the Prime Minister is the one political leader who understands this division, and who has been working to address it since she became Prime Minister last July.

It is even unclear whether May will be Prime Minister by this time next week.

"Theresa May is a dead woman walking". "It's just how long she's going to remain on death row".

The move might offer hope to Conservative lawmakers who have criticized her style of government.

Meanwhile, May's two closest advisers, Nick Timothy and Fiona Hill, resigned on Saturday after taking responsibility for the election debacle for the Conservative Party which failed to get a simple majority. To hear more about all this, we called Roger Scully once again.

Theresa May looks set to be backed by the Democratic Unionist Party as she attempts to run a minority government following her General Election disaster.

Mrs Foster branded some of the commentary and analysis about her party as "inaccurate and misleading".

Davidson - who secured her party's best result for three decades, winning 13 Scottish MPs - said she had sought and received assurances from May about maintaining lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex rights.

While climate change scepticism is not official party policy, the DUP has previously appointed a denier as environment minister in Northern Ireland, and it counts a number of creationists among its senior members. But I think the problem is this - that Theresa May, to get Brexit through the House of Commons, is going to have to pass, I don't know, maybe 20 big laws and maybe thousands of minor laws to extricate Britain from the European Union.

"I will lead a government you can rely on".
