Trump accuses Democrats of holding immigration deal

In a Twitter post Sunday morning, United States President Donald Trump downplayed the possibility of a deal with congressional Democrats on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. I support our making responsible compromises to get there.

A bipartisan group of Republican and Democratic senators working to find a compromise to coincide with a looming spending bill vote on January 19, announced Thursday they had reached a tentative agreement on an immigration bill that addresses several issues, including border security and allowing young undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S.as children and known as dreamers to permanently legalize their status.

Responding to a series of questions, Trump said "honestly" Democrats do not want to make a deal. House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., called Trump's remarks "unhelpful". Republicans don't want to deal with Democrats on this.

Leadership also had to convince defense hawks to back another short-term spending bill after they've said repeatedly that they have deep concerns about how that could affect the military.

Meanwhile, members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus met with White House officials including chief of staff John Kelly early Wednesday in a bid to break the impasse on immigration and find a permanent solution for the dreamers.

"I'm going to go back into hiding", she said she thought.

"I didn't hear that word, either", he said on CBS' "Face the Nation".

"We don't want to shut down the government".

The House is only the first obstacle, however. Lawmakers have until Friday night to pass a short-term measure to keep the government funded, and last night Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said DACA language won't be a part of any spending bill advanced this week.

During NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday, Democratic Sen. He said this is an instance that will showcase whether our government actually works. Her parents came to the US legally but have since moved back, she said. "We can come to an agreement", Sen. "He did not use that word", said Perdue, a top ally of Trump.

Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown fully participated in practice Wednesday
That's in part because he was much worse away from Jacksonville, with a passer rating roughly 30 points lower than at home . Although newcomers Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook have been better than expected, they looked like rookies in recent weeks.

Conservative Republicans are already beginning to cast blame of Democrats for any potential shutdown. Sen.

Of course, the filing of a DACA and work authorization renewal in this fluid situation does risk the loss of the filing fees associated with the applications if the Department of Justice successfully moves to set aside the injunction through challenge to a higher court.

Other Democrats who supported the last stop gap measure in December said Tuesday they were unsure where they stood on plans to extend funding again.

October 1 to 16, 2013: During this standoff, about 800,000 federal workers were furloughed, and more than a million more reported to work without knowing when they would be paid, according to media reports.

"We do support the short-term CR", White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders told reporters, referring to a so-called continuing resolution to fund government operations through February 16.

"For you not to feel that hurt and that pain and to dismiss some of the questions of my colleagues, saying, 'I've already answered that line of questions, ' when tens of millions of Americans are hurting right now because of what they're anxious about happened in the White House, that's unacceptable to me", Booker said. Brian Schatz, a Democrat from Hawaii tweeted over the weekend.

Asked about the bill's chances in the Senate, Labrador said voters in red states "actually want border security before giving any benefits to the DACA population".

On Capitol Hill, Republicans are eagerly seeking to drive that divide. "Why are we kicking the can down the road?"

But, both sides acknowledge the politics are a bit trickier this time around.
