Ballard to Patriots: 'The rivalry is back on'

It wasn't a change of heart.

It's been a rough week for Josh McDaniels. Because if the guys that were rumored to be leaving from New England with him, they were planning on packing it up and going, too.

Josh McDaniels' decision to stay with the New England patriots fueled rumors he may replace head coach Bill Belichick.

A wild situation unfolded in Indianapolis last night.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard now faces the unenviable task of trying to find a coach with the prime pool of coaching candidates no longer available. Now Indianapolis will interview assistant head coach Dan Campbell on Thursday, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter, and offensive coordinator Frank Reich will interview Friday, a source tells ESPN's Dan Graziano. Tom Brady years could be considered a rivalry.

The Patriots will be fine without Patricia.

"Just because you're the first choice doesn't mean you're the right choice". And McDaniels knew that. And Indianapolis was a ideal backup plan, just in case Robert Kraft and Belichick didn't give in.

Trump, who is due to make his own speech on Friday, argues that a strong US economy is a boon to the wider world. But the president, in a gathering dominated by the rich, is in a comfort zone underscored by his own wealth.

The Patriots and Colts haven't had a rivalry since Josh McDaniels was the head coach of the Broncos.

From a business perspective - and football is a business, after all - McDaniels played it perfectly.

Kraft reportedly was involved in McDaniels' decision as well. It was a masterful plan.

Although McDaniels never signed his contract with Indianapolis, his stint was even shorter than Belichick's Jets tenure. There's a press conference at 11.' This is about 8:30 or 9 in the morning. After scheduling a press conference for Wednesday to introduce him, McDaniels backed out of the job and chose to go back to New England.

That tweet has been deleted. He began by offering condolences to Jackson's family, and then he took aim at McDaniels and the Patriots. The Colts, meanwhile, are in a world of trouble as they re-start their head coaching search with great urgency but not much direction.

Revealing he had a brief exchange with McDaniels after hearing of his uncertainty, Ballard added: "I just said: 'I need a yes or no answer".

Oh, but there's one more thing.
