New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who has 27 touchdown passes in his last seven home games, must be licking his chops as he prepares for Sunday's game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. But the Saints did not go down without a fight. This year, they've allowed nine touchdown passes against five interceptions, and they're on pace for 33 sacks while opponents complete 63.1 percent of their passes.

I got the outcome of Carolina's first two games right and have missed the past three - in each case, choosing Carolina to win a game that it lost.

The Saints didn't have a great day offensively in their last game before their bye, but they did two things necessary to pull out a 35-34 win over the San Diego Chargers. While the Saints haven't had much success running the ball this season, they'll have to do a better job this week.

It remains to be seen whether Cam Newton will start in New Orleans, but it is clear Olsen will get his targets whether he or Anderson is calling the shots. Luckily for him, only one of those turnovers resulted in points for the Bucs. Fortunately for Brees, the Panthers are no longer as intimidating defensively as they used to be. In his sixth season in the league, Newton has rushed for 3,354 yards and a league-record 45 touchdowns, and he also holds the NFL mark for most games with a passing and rushing score.

Despite playing a string of veteran quarterbacks to start the year, the Saints have mostly played against pocket passers.

In addition to Newton, three other players are listed as questionable - running back Jonathan Stewart (hamstring), wideout Kelvin Benjamin (knee) and defensive end Charles Johnson (quadriceps).

Can the Saints build and sustain momentum? Brees is now averaging 317 passing yards per game.
