Sanders headlining event aimed at boosting Democrats

The independent senator from Vermont will be joined by Democratic national chairman Tom Perez at the event Tuesday night. A good place to start may be with Sanders' positions, which in 2016 were occasionally criticized by conservatives and centrists for pulling the Democratic Party "dangerously far left". But in order to do that, the party needs to heal some pretty raw wounds from 2016.

The event will be held at the James L. Knight Center in Miami. Democratic National Committee Chairman Thomas Perez worked blue.

The crowd at the Palace Theater was overwhelmingly made up of Bernie Sanders supporters.

JOHNNY CASH: (Singing) I've been everywhere, man.

"I am an independent", Sanders affirmed. Democrats hailed Thompson's unexpectedly strong performance but party strategists came under fire for not investing more in Thompson's campaign. And I do research on climate change and the impacts on agriculture.

She noted that Mello has other progressive bona fides, such as his support for young Nebraskans brought into the country illegally as children, who are in the federal program called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Leading progressive activists, many of them Sanders backers, were confident, too, and expressed optimism, at least in private, that a Clinton administration would provide them with a seat at the table. "Last year's election should've sounded the alarm". "Talk to Republican House members who are scared to death to do town hall meetings because they've got their constituents showing up saying 'Hey what the heck are you doing trying to take away my lifeline?'" And America was primed for something different.

Some attendees say it's time to unite the party. Colin Curtis, Thompson's campaign manager, said that "some people just want to be angry", and while the Democratic Party support had been pro forma, it hadn't been a surprise.

The Republican Party of Florida said the tour was indicative of a lost party with nowhere to go.

Golden State is the clear-cut favorite but if they were to slip up at all, the Spurs are the team that would immediately benefit. The Cavaliers, the defending National Basketball Association champions, are led by LeBron James, who averaged 26.4 ppg.

Sanders asked that Utahns who voted for Trump consider whether he is championing causes that align with their values.

Perez has his work cut out for him. At a kick-off event in ME on Monday, the audience roared for Sanders and booed at the mention of the DNC. "It's an investment. If people are getting health care, it's an investment".

Evidently, Perez is working hard to rally the base. He's begun to pepper his speeches with curse words. "We need a leader badly and I think he is the one".

Contradicting initial reports - and Mello's campaign manager - Planned Parenthood of Nebraska said they never gave Mello a stellar rating.

However, DNC Chair Tom Perez has remained a problematic figure for some progressives. Maybe at the next rally. In France, the Clinton role is assigned to Emmanuel Macron, a former Socialist government minister who spent most of his career as a banker; the Trump role goes to Marine Le Pen, who runs the racial nationalist party her father founded. He's a threat to our democracy.

"We have got to stand together", Sen.

Democratic Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes called on candidates in her party to reach out to voters outside of big cities.
