What we know and don't know about the house health care bill

Republicans passed the bill by a vote of 217 to 213, just one vote over the 216 needed. Leaders predicted they'd deliver a victory for President Donald Trump just six weeks after almost leaving the measure for dead and days after GOP support seemed to crumble anew.

And Democrats and the pragmatic Republicans who negotiated the bill successfully defended other accounts targeted by Trump such as foreign aid, the Environmental Protection Agency, support for the arts, and economic development grants, among others.

After heavy lobbying by the White House and top Republicans and revisions aimed at nailing down support, House leaders sent the measure to an uncertain fate in the Senate. "Difficult as the task has proven, we are hopeful that our federal lawmakers will continue to work hard to get this right for the people of IL and our nation".

Critics have argued that uncertainty created by Congress over the future of Obamacare is itself contributing to the purported collapse of the A.C.A. It matters to us, very personal.

Generally, all of the Big Three Networks noted that the passage of the bill was a victory for the GOP and for Trump.

Not all Republicans were convinced that final amendments added to win votes actually improved the bill.

Of the dissenting Republicans, nine represent districts that voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton over Trump in 2016.

So they gathered on a chilly, overcast afternoon in the Rose Garden, busing over House members from the Capitol so everyone could preen and crow.

The Republican Bill passed on Thursday would allow states to opt out of those provisions.

"We know this is a controversial and hard vote", the Oklahoma Republican said. "As I've also said, they will glow in the dark", she added.

By fall 2012, the Indianapolis Star reported Moran had been kicked out of the trailer and was seen living in a motel in Corydon. Erin Moran was just 14 when she hired on to play Ron Howard's sister in the family comedy, which aired from 1974 to 1984.

Rep. Susan Peters: "It's a sad day for the constituents who called my office anxious about losing their coverage".

"We're a long way from getting a bill done", he told The Tribune. "And you can't break the promise to them on something as basic and think they're going to be enthusiastic about turning out". "It was important to be here".

ROCKY PATH TO PASSAGERyan canceled a March vote on the health care bill because disgruntled conservatives said the measure was too meek while GOP moderates said its cuts were too deep. "Make no mistake about it", he said.

The bill also repeals several taxes that helped pay for the Affordable Care Act, including those for Americans with larger incomes and health insurers. It was a move that opened the doors for leadership to find enough votes. Turning to Ryan, Trump reminded him of the criticism the speaker faced when the healthcare bill stalled in the House the first time.

The bill faces a steeper climb in the Senate, where widespread disagreement remains among Republicans about how to proceed on health care. "I'm not gonna sing it...hey hey hey goodbye", the attempt went. Rob Portman (R-OH).

Republican lawmakers and supporters say the bill will lower premiums and deductibles and give consumers more control over their health care. The House voted without a CBO estimate for the latest version of their bill.

The House measure came to the floor without an updated accounting of how much the bill will cost or its impact. Last month when this came up, the Congressional Budget Office said it would cost 24 million Americans their insurance. Tonight we ask: what it could mean for you, from pre-existing conditions to your premiums. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham expressed concerns. That office also said the bill's subsidies would be less generous for many, especially lower-earning and older people not yet 65 and qualifying for Medicare. The GOP health care plan does away with that.

"Obamacare has failed. Less choice and higher premiums". It would delete language in the health care measure entitling members of Congress and their staffs to Obama's coverage requirements, even if their home states annul them.

The federal government matches state money for Medicaid recipients.

"Without swift action by the state or Congress to provide stability to Iowa's individual insurance market, Medica will not be able to serve the citizens of Iowa in the manner and breadth that we do today", company officials said. A new amendment by Rep. Fred Upton of MI adds an additional $8 billion to assist people with pre-existing conditions. This new house bill would allow states to file for a waiver from the requirement that guarantees their coverage. High-risk pools could fill up fast with patients who have a lapse in coverage. "All to pay for a major tax cut for millionaires".
