British Prime Minister Theresa May to form a minority government

Theresa May had said time and time again that if she lost six seats, she would lose the election.

"From hubris to humiliation", said the left-leaning Guardian.

Some say her failure means the government must now take a more flexible approach to the divorce, potentially softening the exit terms.

Many of those Conservatives now opposing May are those who wanted to remain in the EU.

A party spokesperson confirmed the resignation of Hill, a combative character who one ex-colleague said had helped create a "toxic" atmosphere at the heart of government.

"But I would like to make clear that the freakish media reports about my own role in the policy's inclusion are wrong: it had been the subject of many months of work within Whitehall, and it was not my personal pet project".

Former Conservative finance minister George Osborne, sacked by May when she became prime minister a year ago, told the BBC: "Theresa May is a dead woman walking".

Britain's general election has ended with no party winning an outright majority, bringing the second so-called hung Parliament in the last three elections.

Such an agreement would see the Northern Irish party's 10 MPs support the Conservatives on crucial votes when Parliament returns next week.

Apple unveils 'HomePod' speaker, first new product in years
New software for the iPad will feature a dock at the bottom of the device, so that users can move in and out of apps more simply. First, Apple unveiled a person-to-person Apple Pay option that enables the easy transfer of money in seconds through iMessage.

And the British government sends money to Northern Ireland.

The DUP, although it wants to leave the European Union, will insist on keeping the single market that allows the free flow of goods across the UK's border with Ireland.

The Prime Minister refused to debate on television with other party leaders since calling the election in April and suffered embarrassment after several policy missteps including plans to make elderly people pay for state-funded care at home if they have more than GBP100,000 in assets. That is why the younger generations are behind Jeremy Corbyn, as opposed to Theresa May who gets the vote from the pensioners (who she has just stabbed in the back).

European Council President Donald Tusk has warned there was "no time to lose" in starting talks, after May started the two-year countdown to Brexit on March 29.

But after a poor campaign and an unexpectedly stiff challenge from the opposition Labour Party under leader Jeremy Corbyn, her plan went disastrously wrong, leaving her unable to form a sustainable government without DUP support. But against all odds, most commentators and most polls, the party took just over 40 percent of the vote - an impossibly good result and better than has been attained in decades.

MINORITY GOVERNMENT May had called the snap election with a view to increasing the narrow majority she had inherited from her predecessor David Cameron. Their core, central message was strong and stable leadership. It was thought that two deadly terror attacks during the campaign - in London and the northern city of Manchester - would have an adverse effect on the fortunes of the Labour party, especially since it's leader was relentlessly smeared as a terrorist sympathiser.

The Times of London said in an editorial that "the election appears to have been, among other things, a rejection of the vague but harshly worded prospectus for Brexit for which Mrs".

However, former Conservative party leaders warned against any immediate change, with Iain Duncan Smith saying leadership contest would be a "catastrophe". I wouldn't go that far at this stage, but I think life is going to become very hard for Theresa May and the euro skeptics who want Britain to pull out of the European Union.
