Protesters gather in Manhattan for Trump's visit

President Donald Trump will return to NY next week, part of his 17-day working vacation, where he will stay overnight at Trump Tower for the first time since he became the 45 USA president. Activists took issue with a statement from the president in which he denounced the "display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides". They're carrying American flags and signs with such messages as "Trump is president" and "now is not the time for divisiveness".

China has announced that it will cut off imports of North Korean coal, iron ore and other goods in three weeks under United Nations sanctions imposed over the North's nuclear and missile programs.

Trump struggles with his desire to visit his home, admitting last week that the security burden it places on New Yorkers makes him hesitant to visit frequently.

"Even though Donald Trump is not per se the cause of that (the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville), he is related to that". The groups clashed in street brawls, with hundreds of people throwing punches, hurling water bottles and beating each other with sticks and shields.

An inflatable Trump-rat also showed up for the protest.

Adam Vazquez had protested at Trump Tower on Election Night and said he returned because he felt the country had hit "a pivotal point", particularly after the white supremacist rally that descended into violence Saturday in Charlottesville, Virginia. "I am extremely proud she stood for what she believed in", said Heather's mother Susan Bro.

A 20-year-old man said to have harboured Nazi sympathies was arrested on charges of ploughing his vehicle into protesters opposing the white nationalists, killing 32-year-old paralegal Heather Heyer and injuring 19 people.

When he heard the news that he was working out for the Sixers , Fultz's first thought was about fast-food chicken sandwiches. They traded down and gave up the chance to draft Markelle Fultz , who was the best player in the draft by far.

According to the New York City Patch site, invites for protests at Trump's midtown Manhattan flagship tower circulated on Facebook the previous night, pegged to his return to New York on Monday.

Trump landed in New York late on Monday amid demonstrations, with protesters gathered on sidewalks chanting "F*** you Donald Trump, New York hates you".

"I myself am a college student", he said. Those remarks prompted stern criticism from fellow Republicans as well as Democrats, who urged him to seize the moral authority of his office to condemn hate groups.

"He is a unsafe, risky man", said one demonstrator outside Trump Tower.

Trump gave a new speech today where he condemned white nationalists and neo-nazis as "evil" but he continues to take heat for waiting so long to call out these groups by name.

About 100 protesters also gathered to denounce Trump and racism in the city of Maumee, a suburb of Toledo, Ohio, where Fields Jr was living before his arrest.
