Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina Colleges Close for Irma

Florida's coastal and southern areas have been evacuated since last week with a record 6.3 million people leaving their homes.

Irma moved north into Florida on Sunday with powerful wind, rain and flooding, swamping parts of Naples and Miami on opposite coasts before moving to the centre of the state.
