Cousins to visit Vikings, expected to sign

Now, it's Teddy Bridgewater's time. Glennon made four unremarkable starts early last season, then was usurped by rookie Mitch Trubisky.

Stay tuned to BSN Denver for all of the latest on the Broncos new quarterback.

But the Vikings didn't go the safe route.

The Vikings will go hard after Washington free agent Kirk Cousins, and on Monday they can talk to his representatives about possible contract terms. The number is slightly less than the $90 million, $30 million per year reports that had surfaced last week. That is up for debate.

Case Keenum, Minnesota's starting quarterback last season, is bound for free agency. As a full-time National Football League starter, he has completed 67 percent of his throws for 81 touchdowns, 36 interceptions and a 97.5 passer rating. Keenum threw for 3,547 yards and set career bests in completion percentage (67.6), touchdown-to-interception ratio (22-7) and passer rating (98.3), which was 22 points higher than he had the year before.

Trump tariffs: President says EU making business 'impossible'
She said if the US applied new tariffs to European steel, the EU would take the issue to the World Trade Organization (WTO). He contended that the current agreement "has been a bad deal" for the U.S. with "massive relocation of companies & jobs".

Cousins, who hits free agency after playing on the franchise tag the last two seasons in Washington, has passed for more than 4,000 yards each of the past three seasons. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the signing won't become official until the NFL's business year opens on Wednesday. With a new offensive coordinator in John DeFillipo, the quarterbacks coach for Super Bowl champion Philadelphia, the Vikings can reset their scheme to the preferences and strengths of Cousins. Kubiak has since taken on a role in the Broncos' front office this offseason. The same QB has never started three consecutive openers.

The media says that Cousins is the Jets' foremost target, which is exciting to hear because the Jets desperately need a high-caliber quarterback. Barring something unforeseen, it really does seem like Cousins will whittle his list down to just the Minnesota Vikings sooner rather than later. Theismann predicts Cousins will end up signing with the Vikings over other top suitors Denver, the New York Jets and Arizona.

"We've only agreed to visit Minnesota first", McCartney said.

While the Jets had more money to offer with an estimated salary cap around $100 million, they didn't have the kind of contender that Cousins could step into and immediately find success with.

Keenum is a player the Broncos know well because Kubiak, now the Broncos' senior personnel adviser, coached him for two seasons while he was head coach of the Houston Texans. But, until he inks a deal with another team, he is still just a free agent who is a former Redskin. It will take months and perhaps a few years to answer that question. "Cousins, Vikings have mutual interest".
