Health care bill meets GOP skeptics in Senate

"Affordable Care" doesn't mean "just affordable" for healthy people or "just affordable" for the sick.

Several top Republicans in the senate have voiced skepticism of the House plan, which they say places too many costs on older, poorer Americans and would burden some states with high healthcare costs.

"The biggest misconception about the Affordable Care Act and what was passed yesterday is that it's 'health care reform, '" said Dr. Rai.

Rep. Julia Brownley of California, the ranking Democrat on the Health Subcommittee of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, said, "While I am deeply concerned about many aspects of this bill, the rush to put politics ahead of people, and the impact it could have on our veterans as a outcome, is simply shameful".

Specifically, Republicans' majority in the Senate is slimmer than it is in the House, and many Republican Senators from states that expanded Medicaid object to changes to Medicaid funding.

With Thursday's 217-213 vote, Republicans obtained just enough support to push the legislation through the House, sending it to the Senate for consideration.

So what changes are small-business owners looking for in a revised federal health-care bill?

The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA) says it's disappointed that the house passed the bill.

Flood warnings issued for Arkansas rivers following rainfall
One of the highest rainfall totals has been measured in southern Missouri with almost 10 inches in the community of Houston. Flood warnings have also been issued for the Spring River at Imboden and the Eleven Point River near Ravenden Springs.

And the process could take even longer because senators won't debate the new American Health Care Act until the Congressional Budget Office issues its analysis, or "score", of the bill's potential cost and impact on coverage. It would block the nonprofit from Medicaid reimbursements, effectively doing away with health services like birth control access and sexually transmitted infection screenings for an estimated 390,000 low-income women who reply on public-assistance for health care. "Legislators and governors will have to answer for that".

Collins expressed some concerns about the House bill.

"I'd say for something that is President Obama's signature achievement this is a pretty small crowd". "Failure is not an option", No. 2 Senate leader John Cornyn, R-Texas, said earlier this year.

"I told the president directly this week that I would not support this bill as written without a fix". Richard Burr, who past year said "Obamacare is imploding", will give a nod to whatever repeal Senate Republicans settle on.

"Yes, premiums will be coming down. But very importantly, it is a great plan and ultimately that's what it's all about", Mr. Trump said. "And ultimately, that's what it's all about". About 20 million Americans gained healthcare coverage under the healthcare programme, but Republicans viewed it as an overreach of the federal government and said patients had less choice and higher premiums.

Representatives who voted for the bill Thursday understand something drastic has to be done about Obamacare.

He added that the new dynamic "is consistent with past scenarios that have generated a midterm wave" and "almost a mirror image of 2010".
