Apple's next iPhones could support tap-to-pay for Japan's trains

Through the FeliCa technology, iPhone 7 users in Japan will be able to use their phone to pay at subways, vending machines, virtual stores, convenient stores, cafes and buses. FeliCa is Japan's answer to the NFC technology, which is the prevailing mobile payments standard in Western countries. Japan already accounts for nearly 8 per cent of the company's total revenue and 11 per cent of the total operating profit in the recent quarter.

One of the reasons why Apple is integrating FeliCa chips in Japan is because Sony's technology is more popular there with 1.9 million payment terminals already using the technology, according to Bloomberg. Data from UK Cards Association and Let's Talk Payments suggests that the USA had a total of 1.3 million NFC terminals a year ago, while the UK had 320,000.

Apple reportedly wants to include the feature in its next iPhone, due in September, but may delay it until 2017's model if discussions with transport card providers don't progress quickly. Given that this year's event is only a few days away now, readers must be wondering whether this FeliCa chip would arrive in the upcoming model. Last year Apple announced a program that allows users to upgrade to the new iPhone every year, and added in store pickup starting at 8 AM on the release day.

Backlash Against Trade Worries Businesses in Indiana, Mike Pence''s State
The Trump campaign has been busy in recent days responding to questions about a shift in its policy on illegal immigration. But he calls Perry a "great governor" saying, " People love him in Texas".

Nevertheless, we'll have more on both the FeliCa rumor and home button removal as we draw closer and closer to the launch of the 2016 iPhone and 2017 iPhone. "The new models will have a pressure-sensitive button that employs so-called haptic feedback", reported Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Besides its already wide acceptance, FeliCa's advantage over Apple Pay is said to be in speedy transaction time - just 0.1 seconds, according to Sony - because its transaction process isn't hobbled by required bank approval. Apple Pay can now be used to pay for rides on the London Underground. Apple will likely spend an hour or two on stage and it will take at least half an hour before they show off the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple Services, which grew 19% year-on-year to $6 billion through the third quarter, gets a hefty contribution from Apple Pay.

Moreover, Apple has recently entered into an agreement with KDDI Corp to enable customers have their iTunes purchased reflect on their monthly post-paid bills instead of their credit card bills.
