It's important that this element doesn't take a shot at all Amazon items; it's accessible for a few. If past years are any indicator, the deals will encompass a wide, if not comical, variety of items.

While the potential deal has ratcheted up uncertainty for Whole Foods and its workers, it's clear that something needed to change. The move by Amazon to offer live sports online is just one of the Seattle-based online retailer's recent moves into new markets.

Some deals that are already available include $50 off on a Bose Soundlink Bluetooth speaker, and $20 off a Philips light strip that works with Alexa.

Bazaarvoice, the provider of consumer-generated content, advertising, and personalization solutions, found in a recent study exploring the shopping habits of more than 400 Amazon Prime Day shoppers in the USA that consumers also engage and shop more with other online retailers on one of the busiest days in e-commerce.

"The more people that get into the Prime ecosystem, the more they shop at Amazon, the less they shop elsewhere, and that's ultimately helping Amazon from a sales perspective and hurting their competition", Caporaso said.

One of the more useful abilities of Amazon's Echo products is the ability to use them to order stuff from Amazon.

Prime members can get 40 per cent off a Kindle Unlimited subscription for the duration.
