Democratic Alabama Congresswoman wants 'full account' of Comey's meeting with President Trump

Unfortunately, the White House has been anything but forthcoming about that. House Speaker Paul Ryan gave an early preview Monday night at a rally for Karen Handel, the Republican candidate in the runoff for Georgia's 6th District seat. On Tuesday the Bloomberg dollar spot index slipped to its lowest level since November on reports that the president had revealed sensitive intelligence to Russian officials.

"What we have is a memo of a president asking highly inappropriate questions of an Federal Bureau of Investigation director", he said. The White House is disputing a report that President Donald Trump asked C.

Comey wrote some notes after a February meeting with Trump, where he stated that the president brought up counterintelligence investigation into Flynn and urged Comey to drop the probe in the wake of the national security adviser's resignation. In other words, for about the four-hundredth time since taking office (voter fraud, fake news, wiretapped by Obama, ships heading to Korean Peninsula), Trump made it all up. Yet U.S. allies and some members of Congress have expressed alarm.

The President told Comey that Flynn, who was sacked for lying to Pence about the content of his telephone conversations with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak before the inauguration, hadn't done anything wrong. Republican US Representative Jason Chaffetz, chairman of a House of Representatives oversight committee, said his committee "is going to get the Comey memo, if it exists".

It's reaching Watergate size and scale. "He was using his power to do that, and when James Comey didn't go along with him, when he wasn't his boy, he fired him". "All the Comey memos should be turned over to Congress, any unclassified memos should be released to the public and President Trump should submit to investigators the tapes with which he threatened Mr Comey", he demanded. Trump supporters are demanding that he push tax cuts through, but efforts to craft a bill, as with healthcare reform, have been hampered by the constant and distracting buzz of intrigue around the White House.

The disclosure rocked the administration as it struggled to move past the backlash over Trump's abrupt firing on May 9 of FBI Director James Comey, whose agency was investigating potential ties between Russian Federation and Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. Unless you're guzzling the Trump Kool-Aid, no one can possibly offer a rationale for doing this, or at least doing this now, that doesn't end with guilty, stupid or both. "For example, Rep. Al Green, a Democrat from Texas, recently called for Trump's impeachment, making the claim that Trump's firing of Comey constituted ".an act for which he should be charged by the U.S. House of Representatives".

And there's no guarantee that the White House can get its story straight.

"And we now have evidence that he may have indicated an improper objective previously in his communications with Comey about the Russian Federation investigation".

Trump launches commission to investigate voter fraud
He said he was sending his application for the commission Thursday and hoped to be selected, albeit as a skeptical voice. And now President Trump has turned to Kris Kobach to figure out what should be done about the American election system.

And added: " This is not a truthful or accurate portrayal of the conversation between the President and Mr Comey".

"I hope you can let this go", Comey wrote, quoting the President. "I want to hear it from him (Comey)", said Republican Senator Lindsey Graham in an MSNBC interview.

The newspaper said Comey was in the Oval Office that day with other national security officials for a terrorism threat briefing.

He and other Democrats said Mr Comey must testify before lawmakers about his conversations with the president.

There is no suggestion Mr Trump has committed a crime as he has the authority to disclose even the most highly classified information at will. The White House has said Trump's conversation with the Russians were "wholly appropriate".

As Republicans asked for Comey's evidence, there were bipartisan voices also calling for the former FBI Director to come before Congress and tell his story publicly. The latest crisis to beset Trump came just 24 hours after another report accused him of sharing classified intelligence with Russia during Oval Office talks with Russian officials.

Moscow's top diplomat, Lavrov represents Russian foreign policies that are often sharply at odds with USA aims in Syria and Europe.

"If it's information that was shared with the Russian ambassador, it seems to me it would be okay to be shared with United States senators", said Thom Tillis, a North Carolina Republican.
