Health care: This is why we need town hall forum

Starting in 2014, members and their staffs had to use federal or state health care exchanges instead of the coverage that is available to most government workers. People would suffer, they insisted, and our nation would not survive.

This change, plus Trumpcare's replacing of Obamacare subsidies with less generous tax credits for many seniors, acts like a tax on age, according to the AARP.

Presumably, half of those people identify as Republicans, or at least as non-Democrats. They consider medical conditions, not how they got injured or sick. Uncompensated indigent care will stagger them. Don't they worry about losing their life savings because of one illness?

They've found that the task was more alluring in theory than it is in practice. That doesn't seem very Christian.

"Expanded Medicaid has made such a huge difference for moms who are in the financial situation that I was in then who are working, but their employer doesn't offer insurance", she said. I don't understand the GOP's glee at the notion of killing something that - while truly flawed - is helping people. Younger, healthier people should have the option to buy cheaper insurance plans so they're only paying for the coverage they need.

"The thing that's not understood is the majority of Medicaid is spent on the elderly", he said. "I just think he sees it only in terms of money", 65-year-old retired teacher Anne Michael of nearby Tama said after the Blum event.

"The reduction in federal funding would have been smaller if spending had grown more slowly, but the magnitude of the risk to states is asymmetric due to the one-sided nature of the cap; since states can never receive more funding than under current law, they bear the full risk of higher spending growth, but capture only part of the benefit of lower spending growth", the authors write.

Packer, who talked as protesters rallied outside of Perry's Wormleysburg office days after the health care vote, said to the congressman, "Women who are having the children need to have them in a safe manner". A per capita cap will harm children's access to care, including services received at school. We've always had that.

The Blue Jays are already without two-thirds of their starting rotation with injuries to Aaron Sanchez (Blister) and J.A. Selected the AL Rookie of the Month for April, Judge raised his average to.330 and has six homers in his last six games.

Lankford, a fiscal conservative, said in a statement after a brief interview he wants to make sure no individual ends up in worse shape.

The House passed the American Health Care Act to begin the process to provide America with a 21st century health care system that lowers costs, encourages competition and, most importantly, empowers patients to take control of their health care decisions.

Don't a lot of us have those? Most Texans with pre-existing conditions and no access to job-based coverage weren't as fortunate. Pregnancy may be a pre-existing condition!

So I ask again: Don't Republican supporters have any of those illnesses?

Grace suffers from chronic depression.

Wouldn't that infuriate them?

According to Politico, "multiple sources" confirmed "food stamps, welfare, income assistance for the disabled and perhaps even veterans benefits" are all slated for massive cuts. But here's what we fought for to get in the legislation. I ran for the state legislature to fix health care in our state, and when I saw the same principles as TennCare being debated and eventually enacted on the national level after President Obama was elected, I decided that I had to try and make a difference in Congress.
