Hundreds march in USA to mourn Justine Damond's death

She then dialed 911 to make sure authorities were responding to the correct address, CBS Minnesota reports.

The city's most senior police officer would not guarantee Officer Noor would be stripped of his badge, but said she had assured Ms Damond's family that justice would served. Noor and his partner had been called to the alley behind Damond's home to investigate reports of a possible assault. Brandt Williams from Minnesota Public Radio has the latest.

Bennett said Justine Damond's family wants justice, including changes in police protocols.

Below is the full transcript of Ruszczyk's two conversations with police.

Soon after the police squad auto containing Officer Noor, who joined the force two years earlier, and Officer Harrity, a one-year rookie, pulled into the alley behind her home with their vehicle's lights off. "And it sounds distressed".

Caller: And there's a (inaudible) out the back, yup, yup.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has ruled her death as homicide, confirming that she died of a single bullet wound to the abdomen.

Harteau had been on previously scheduled personal time, and Assistant Chief Medaria Arradondo had addressed media in two previous press conferences. And everyone shares the same questions.

Justine Damond was shot dead on Saturday.

Tech companies plan virtual protest to protect net neutrality
Google's approach was a bit more understated, due to their complicated relationship with net neutrality in general. Each company will decide how they would like to protest the upcoming repeal of the FCC's net neutrality rules .

Mr Bennett hopes the shooting death of the vivacious, peace-loving spiritual healer could finally force action into stopping America's rampant police shootings of innocent people. Noor has declined to be interviewed. Immediately afterward, Ruszczyk approached the driver's side window of the squad.

That's when Ruszczyk approached Harrity's driver's side window. Noor has so far refused to speak to investigators.

All Minneapolis police are required to wear body cameras, but neither Noor or his partner Matthew Harrity had their cameras turned on when Damond was shot. Neither officer has been fired; both are on administrative leave, which is the same as a paid vacation. "Prosecutors have been reluctant to bring charges against police officers because the juries have been reluctant to convict police officers because it ultimately boils down to whether they felt the officer was in fear for their life".

Caller: Yes, along behind the house. Normally I wait for more facts to emerge before engaging in speculation on stories like this, except that this is one question that, as I say, is certain to be suppressed.

"There isn't anything that hadn't been done because I wasn't here", she said.

"There's been a lot of discussion about body cameras".

The Damond family also hired attorney Robert Bennett, who represented the Castile family past year in a settlement over his shooting death. The operator assures her officers are on their way.

WILLIAMS: Arradondo didn't offer details but said Chief Janee Harteau will soon be releasing an updated policy. But he might have already been in a heightened state of awareness in light of recent ambushes of police, they added.

She also recounted a conversation she had with Ruszczyk's fiance, Don Damond.

While the US Government only recently began tracking officer-involved incidents, 1,093 were killed by police in the US past year according to a database compiled by the Guardian. For NPR News, I'm Brandt Williams in Minneapolis.
