Taylor Swift just made a powerful reminder to sexual assault victims

Pop sensational and Grammy winning singer-songwriter Taylor Swift testified on Thursday how she was subjected to a "very long" and "intentional" grope by the drunk radio DJ during a "meet-and-greet" photo session after a concert in 2013.

When questioned by Mueller's lawyer, Gabriel McFarland on the incident, Taylor stood by what allegedly happened, including Mueller grabbing her "bare bottom". "He stayed latched on as I lurched away from him".

Swift did not say anything publicly about the incident until Mueller sued Swift in 2015 for $3 million in damages, claiming her false accusations cost him his job. "It was underneath my skirt".

Taylor Swift's former bodyguard was standing just a few feet away from the pop star, former DJ David Mueller and his then-girlfriend during a June 2, 2013 meet-and-greet at the Pepsi Center that's become the center of a legal battle more than four years later.

Taylor alleged that Mueller groped her butt during a meet-and-greet back in June 2013 and the DJ was sacked from his job two days later.

comes a day after her mother, Andrea Swift, took the stand, where she said she "wanted to vomit and cry at the same time" when her daughter told her she had been groped.

"I'm not going to allow you or your client make me feel in any way that this is my fault".

He met Swift after a concert when he was a radio personality with 98.5 KYGO in Denver, Colorado and she claims that he groped her butt during the photo-op.

Call said Swift's liaison to radio stations, Frank Bell, told him Swift's team was "outraged ... very upset" by what happened and was considering all options, including alerting the police. Each side of the trial has attempted to use the photo to bolster their argument, but Swift rejected McFarland's claim that the photo showed nothing inappropriate. A station investigation was conducted and Mueller was sacked. She's seeking a symbolic $1, saying she wants to serve as an example to other assault victims. For its part, the radio host continues with Taylor Swift for having caused the loss of his job and messed up his name.

The court has been shown a photograph of the moment when Swift said she was grabbed which her lawyer says is "damning" proof of her claims.

Swift maintains he sexually assaulted her by lifting her skirt and fondling her buttocks. During her testimony on , Swift countered by saying Mueller shouldn't have touched her in the first place.

"I know I saw it", he said.

"My hand was at rib-cage level and apparently it went down", he said in earlier testimony.

Dressed and styled conservatively for the occasion, Swift surprised observers with her steely nerve as she related the story to the jury.

"The first couple of milliseconds, I thought it must be a mistake", she said.

While some members of the public have happily bowed at her brogued feet, others have simply refused to buy into the star's "wholesome" image.

"I hope Taylor Swift wins this trial/ There's no excuse for any sexual abuse".

Swift's mother testified yesterday (August 9), telling the courtroom that her daughter was "really shaken" and "humiliated" by the incident.
